This training day has been organised to provide Museums in the South West with the knowledge and skills to use the Inspiring Learning For All Framework as a tool to improve learning provision in Museums.
For Education / Learning Officers and others responsible for developing and delivering learning resources in museums.
It will cover:

Led by Jo Graham (Learning Unlimited) and Julia Hodson (GEM/Fleet Air Arm Museum)

Case study from Somerset Heritage Service

The learning theories that underpin ILFA

How to use ILFA to plan for learning

Planning workshops in the museum galleries
By the end of the course participants will have:

Improved their skills in using the Inspiring Learning For All Framework as a tool to improve learning provision in their museum.

Learnt how to make the most of ILFA for planning sessions, learning experiences and interpretation

Gained confidence in using ILFA
Appropriate for Education staff with responsibility for delivering learning services and resources.

GEM’s aim is to promote the importance of learning through museums,
galleries and other cultural organisations. GEM membership has many benefits
including a yearly conference, regional training, publications and an excellent
informal support network. This training day is one of three organised each year
in the South West.

Strategic Commissioning
Strategic Commissioning is a programme of additional funding from Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Department of Children, Schools and Families, routed via the MLA partnership, to promote the ability of museums and archives to develop and extend their relationships with schools.
The South West Museum Skills Programme
The South West Museum Skills programme is funded through Renaissance in the Regions. The programme aims to provide affordable, relevant and accessible skills development opportunities for people who work or volunteer in museums in the South West.
