Background
The new national curriculum highlights the importance of experience-based learning. Heritage organisations provide perfect environments for this sort of learning outside the classroom. By developing relationships with schools, museums and other heritage organisations can contribute to the welfare of young people at the same time as meeting important government agendas and developing audiences for the future. This day provides an opportunity to understand some of the changes in the curriculum and how you can work in innovative ways with schools on limited resources.

Content
We are drawing on the expertise and experience of organisations and individuals in the local area, so an element of the programmes will vary from venue to venue. But each day will cover the following key areas:
