Heritage Lottery Fund Research Projects

 

The Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) was established in 1999 in response to the growing need for research and evaluation within the sector, in particular around the relationship between museums, galleries and their audiences). The major research themes of RCMG include: The uses of arts and culture; The social role and impact of museums and galleries; Museum education, communication, interpretation, learning; Disability cultures and museums. Specific current research programmes concern: Museum pedagogy in the post-museum; The measurement of museum-based learning, using the Generic Learning Outcome approach; The representation of disability within museums and galleries; Learning in cultural organizations
