INDEPENDENT REVIEW 2005
The Board of GEM commissioned Hilary McGowan to carry out an independent review of the work of the group. This review looked at attitudes to GEM from both members and non-members and considered the priorities the group should have in the future.
The Board thanks the large number of members who returned the questionnaire or emailed comments.
Hilary collected your thoughts on what GEM does well, what it does badly, what you think it should be doing but doesn’t, whether it should be working more with your European members, creating partnerships with museums in Britain or moving into cross-sectoral work with archives and libraries.
She
presented her report to the Trustees at their Board
Meeting on 6 December, and the Board met again on 20 January to take forward
the recommendations of the review.
